“The Memoirs of Dr. Sex”, by Dr. Andrew Barclay
Now Released!
Many of my students asked me to write about the experiences that were a basis for my lectures. During the Covid-19 lockdown, I was cleaning out my desk and came across 3 ½” floppy disks (many of you won’t remember them) which were marked “Love Lectures.” I tried to open them but nothing I had gave me anything but incomprehensible hash. I was stumped. Then I came across someone called “Retrofloppy” in North Carolina who said he could decode any disks, so I sent them off. He sent back a thumb-drive (which we all use now) with 15 chapters in MS Word. Now that I could open.
Lo and behold, there were the Love and Maturity lectures I gave in 1984 at Michigan State University just prior to the Reagan-Mondale election. I have been working on editing them because I have a better perspective on life now that I am older. I am close to publishing them through Amazon.
Memoirs of Dr. Sex is a retrospective on an earlier era, the lectures planted an antidote to racism and sexism. The book is like a pill, creating change from inside out but at the same time, it dances over the surface of life examining where love comes from and where it goes. Controlling your energy output effects how life impacts on you seven years later. Improve your output, improve your life, what could be better than that?
